As someone who’s spent more hours than I’d like to admit on Diablo 4—especially on the Spiritborn class—I’ve had my fair share of ups and downs with gear. But if there’s one Mythic that’s consistently disappointed me, it’s Nesekem, the Herald. On paper, this weapon looks like it should be a game-changer. It has insane numbers: +400% Damage to Elites, +200 to All Stats, +1200 Max Life, +250% Crit Damage, and a massive +450% Overpower Damage. Not to mention its unique affix that guarantees crits and Overpower against marked enemies. Sounds great, right?

In reality, it just doesn’t hit the mark—especially when you consider what else is available for Spiritborn.

Here’s the problem. The Spiritborn has access to some of the most synergistic and impactful Unique weapons in the game. Rod of Kepeleke, Wushe Nak Pa, Sepazontec—these aren’t just strong, they enhance specific builds to an absurd degree. Compare that with Nesekem, the Herald, and it starts to feel like you’re holding a legendary from a different era. The affixes on Nesekem feel scattered. It tries to be a generalist powerhouse, but it ends up lacking the punch or synergy that dedicated builds really need Diablo 4 gold.

It’s also incredibly limiting that Nesekem is Spiritborn-exclusive. If it could be used by other classes, maybe it would find a niche. But as it stands, it’s locked into a class that already has better options. It’s not that the weapon is objectively bad—it’s just completely outshined by alternatives. If you’re chasing optimal performance, Nesekem doesn’t make the cut.

Honestly, I really wanted to love this weapon. I found it during my second playthrough in Season 9 and tried to make it work with a hybrid crit-Overpower build. The results? Mediocre. The mark mechanic sounds cool in theory, but in practice, it’s clunky. You can’t control which enemy gets marked, and by the time you get your ten hits in, the target’s probably already dead—especially in group play or against trash mobs. It just doesn’t provide consistent value Diablo 4 Items.

So yeah, I’ve shelved it more times than I can count. It’s a shame, because I love the flavor and lore around Nesekem. But functionally? It’s a dust collector in my stash.
